Skyler Lewis
My Name is Skyler Lewis. I am currently in my 3rd Semester at SLCC. I hope to continue my education at the University of Utah for my Bachelors in Business Management. I also manage a direct sales DISH team for my current occupation. I have been married to my beautiful Wife for 2 years now. My topics are Steroid Abuse/Sexual Assault. The reason I chose these topics is because although they haven't affected me directly they have affected a lot of my friends and loved ones. These two issues both need to be addressed as you will see in my articles. Give them a read.

My name is Shonnie Sullivan. I have been married to my husband for 4 years now and we have a two year old daughter. I am currently working on my AS Degree. I have not decided on a major yet. I will be taking a long break after I get my associates degree so I can support my husband through med school so I am anxious to get my associates out of the way! Almost 8 years ago, I placed my son for adoption and that is why I chose adoption for my social justice issue. I have encountered so many people who have no idea how adoptions really work or what the "adoption world" looks like. It also is a very uncomfortable subject so I wanted to open up the conversation and let people know that it is okay to talk about it!

Hey, my name is Hannah Kuhnhausen and I'm currently studing Political Science at SLCC. This is my first semester here, and I hope to continue my education at the University of Utah in 2016. My advocacy towards mental health started at an early age after being diagnosed with clinical depression. After choosing to talk about the stigmas surrounding mental health for the duration of the semester, I found a deeper appreciation for the issue as well as some of my own feelings and thoughts have changed. The understanding I devoped for the advocacy surrounding this topic was increased through my reasearch and development. I hope readers of my work are able to feel the same and develop their own understanding of the issues surrounding mental health and stigma.

My name is McKenzie Hilton. I am currently finishing my general education requirements at SLCC and hope to continue my education at the U of U. I plan on applying to the medical program at the U to eventually become a surgeon. I chose child abuse as my social justice issue because of its recurring role throughout my life. More people need to be aware of how to address and respond to the issue, because it is more prevalent than people believe it to be. The abusers are not always as imagined, they can be some of the most loving and caring people, but can have a different side when others are not looking. I hope my works express to readers the effects of child abuse while encouraging them to look beyond the surface to see the signs of abuse.
